Cyprus: National CSIRT establishment
Challenge
Cyprus recognised the need to enhance national cyber resilience capabilities by monitoring and analysing cyber incidents in the national digital environment of Cyprus as well as effectively coordinating various stakeholders to handle any threats.
Solution
To effectively handle cyber threats and even be one step ahead by identifying and dealing with them in their early stages, it was decided to establish a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). NRD Cyber Security was chosen due to its experience in similar scope CSIRT projects. After a successful set-up process, the NRD Cyber Security team has been invited once again to establish and showcase new procedures to the team and deploy cyber sensor technology.
National CSIRT-CY envisions the increase of the security posture of The Republic of Cyprus by enhancing cyber protection of its National Critical Information Infrastructures (CII), banks and ISPs. More about the organisation and the services it provides: https://csirt.cy
