With the increasing use of digitalisation by countries, the creation of a national CSIRT, an organisation to coordinate the protection of cyberspace and critical information infrastructure, is crucial. The Government of The Bahamas has decided to establish such an organisation to be responsible for the protection of government systems and to contribute to capacity building and the creation of a cybersecurity culture in the country.
NRD Cyber Security is providing consultancy services to establish the Bahamas National Cyber Security Incident Response Team (CIRT) in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union.
As part of the first phase of the project, a CIRT design document was developed and approved in 2022 to guide the implementation of technical solutions, the establishment of processes and procedures, and the development of policies and procedures necessary for the provision of services.
The design document and the role of the national CIRT were widely presented by NRDS Cyber Security experts to stakeholder groups during a conference in the Bahamas.
