Assessment of the technical and organisational security defences for the Central Bank of Botswana's infrastructure

Botswana

Challenge

As required as part of the implementation of SWIFT, the Central Bank of Botswana organises an annual SWIFT compliance assessment. When the need arose to outsource this in 2022, NRD Cyber Security won the tender for this contract.

Solution

The project involved a full assessment of the technical and organisational security defences of the Central Bank of Botswana’s infrastructure by NRD Cyber Security experts and giving recommendations for improving the security situation. The assessment identified the security defences already applied in line with SWIFT security requirements, assessed the infrastructure’s resilience to hacking attempts based on the OWASP methodology, determined the level of risk of vulnerabilities and made recommendations for eliminating them.
